"In the 14 state studies in the pre-1989 period, chiropractic compares FAVORABLY with medical doctors in the treatment of low back pain. In about 35 other comparisons in these 14 studies and the two general surveys, the cost and effectiveness RESULTS of Chiropractic treatment are superior to those of medical treatment. Additionally, survey data indicate that the availabililty of Chiropractic is well known among the population, and that those who have had experience with it, show a high level of satisfaction with both the services and the manner in which they were applied.
